Blunt’s Electrical Terms & Conditions
By booking our services, accepting a quotation, or paying a deposit, you agree to these terms. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL).
Payments
Payment is due immediately upon completion of work unless otherwise stated in writing. A deposit invoice will be issued for jobs valued over $2,000 prior to commencement.
Progress payments may be required for jobs exceeding 5 days or where circumstances beyond our operational control delay completion.
Invoices unpaid after 7 days may incur a 5% overdue fee. If still unpaid at 30 days, an additional 5% may apply as a genuine estimate of administrative and financing costs. Reasonable debt-recovery costs may be on-charged where permitted by law.
Workmanship Warranty
All labour and installation work is covered by a 5-year workmanship warranty from the date of completion. This excludes misuse, fair wear and tear, damage by third parties, and faults in products or equipment.
Product Supply & Manufacturer Warranties
Products supplied are sourced from trusted suppliers and are subject to their own manufacturer warranties and terms.
Manufacturer defects are covered by the manufacturer’s warranty. Site visits for assessment, removal or reinstallation are chargeable unless the manufacturer covers those costs.
Smart Devices
We complete initial setup only. Ongoing programming, app/account issues, Wi-Fi changes, firmware updates and third-party ecosystem changes are outside scope and may be chargeable.
Cable Access & Wall Penetrations
Where access holes are required in walls, ceilings or other surfaces, patching, painting and plastering are excluded unless agreed in writing. Minor touch-ups may be performed where practical.
Quoted Price Scope
Quotes are based on agreed scope and standard conditions. If site conditions differ, concealed issues arise or you request changes, a priced variation will be provided before proceeding.
Quotes are valid for 30 days unless stated otherwise.
Cancellations & Rescheduling
If you cancel after approval, you are liable for non-returnable or special-order items and supplier restocking or freight fees.
Cancellations within 1 business day of scheduled commencement may attract a short-notice fee (up to one standard call-out).
You may reschedule once at no charge with at least 1 full business day’s notice.
Access & Site Conditions
You must provide safe and timely access including parking and clear work areas. Work may be paused if unsafe conditions exist.
Discovery of hazardous materials such as asbestos will be treated as a variation and may require licensed remediation.
Compliance & Certificates
Electrical work is completed in accordance with Victorian requirements. A Certificate of Electrical Safety (COES) will be issued and lodged where required.
Liability & Australian Consumer Law
Your rights under the Australian Consumer Law include guarantees that services will be provided with due care and skill and be fit for purpose.
For non-consumer customers and to the extent permitted by law, liability is limited to re-supplying the services or paying the cost of re-supply. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss except where required by law.
