Hard-Wired CCTV Installation
We design and install reliable, hard-wired CCTV systems using Tiandy cameras and an NVR (Network Video Recorder). Hard-wired (often PoE) means no batteries to swap, stable recording, and neat cabling - ideal for homes and businesses across inner Melbourne.
Why hard-wired beats DIY WiFi cams
- Reliability: Each camera is cabled back to the NVR, so recording continues even if WiFi drops.
- Consistent quality: Stable power + data = clearer footage and better night performance.
- Longer retention: Store weeks or months locally (with optional cloud backup).
- Professional finish: Licensed electricians, tidy cable runs, compliant power.
What we install
- Turret/Dome cameras - discreet wide coverage for entries and shop floors.
- Bullet cameras - longer reach for driveways and perimeter lines.
- PTZ (pan/tilt/zoom) - flexible monitoring for larger areas.
- NVR - local recording with motion alerts, playback, and remote view via mobile app.
How it works
- Site visit: We map camera positions, cable paths, power, and NBN/router location.
- Design & quote: Recommended camera types, lenses, storage size, and any network upgrades.
- Install: Cabling, mounting, termination, NVR setup, and basic app setup on your phone.
- Handover: Walk-through, test footage, and a simple “how-to” guide.
What affects price
- Number of cameras and mounting heights/access.
- Construction type (double brick, roof access, cable runs).
- NVR storage (target days of footage).
- Network requirements (PoE switch, UPS, remote viewing optimisation).
Every property is different - pricing is on inspection. We’ll give you a fixed quote before any work starts.
Inclusions
- Supply of Tiandy cameras, NVR, cabling, terminations, and mounts.
- Professional installation by licensed electricians.
- Basic mobile app setup on up to two devices.
- 5-year workmanship guarantee + manufacturer hardware warranty.
Optional extras
- UPS so recording continues during short power cuts.
- Annual check/clean and health report.
- Compliance signage for entrances.
Pricing & Quotes
Price on site visit (obligation-free). Every property is different, so we quote after we’ve seen:
- Cable routes & access (roof/underfloor/through walls, soffits, conduit runs)
- Construction type (double brick, cladding, ceiling height, heritage constraints)
- Camera heights & safety (ladders/scissor lift requirements)
- NBN/router location & network (PoE switch, Wi-Fi coverage, UPS/backup power)
- Recording needs (days of footage you want to retain)
After the visit we’ll send a fixed quote with recommended camera types, lens angles, and storage size. No pressure, no surprises.
FAQ
Can I view footage on my phone?
Yes. Once the NVR is online you can live-view and play back via the app.
Do I need fast internet?
Local recording does not rely on internet. For smooth remote viewing, decent upload helps-we’ll check this on site.
How long is footage kept?
Depends on storage size and settings. We’ll size the NVR to meet your target (e.g., 14/30/60+ days).
