About Our EV Charger Installation

Most EV charger installs involve running a dedicated circuit from your switchboard to the charger location, whether that’s a garage, carport, or outdoor wall, then fitting the correct protection and completing compliant testing.

We check your available supply, whether it is single phase or three phase, assess your switchboard, confirm the cable path, and explain clearly if any upgrades are recommended before installation.

If required, we can also complete a switchboard upgrade before the charger install.

Your EV Charger Options

Install your ev Charger

Already purchased an EV charger? We can install many customer-supplied Type 2 chargers, subject to suitability, switchboard capacity, and site conditions.

Not sure what’s involved? We can inspect the site and talk you through the best setup for your home and vehicle.

Want us to supply the charger too? We can supply and install the a charger as a complete package (usually the Tesla Gen 3 Wall Connector). Installations are subject to site suitability, switchboard capacity and cable run requirements.

This is a popular option for customers who want a simple, tidy setup without needing to source the charger themselves.

Which EV Charger Do I Need?

The right charger depends on your power supply, switchboard capacity, charger location, and how quickly you want to charge your vehicle.

Single-Phase (most homes)

Many Melbourne homes charge perfectly well with a charger set up for single-phase supply, which is commonly enough for overnight charging.

Three-Phase

If your property has three-phase power, faster charging may be possible depending on your available supply and selected charger.

We’ll Help You Choose

We’ll confirm your supply, check your switchboard, and recommend the simplest setup that suits your home and vehicle without overcomplicating things.

Simple, Practical Charging Options

For most customers, the process is straightforward: if you already have a charger, we can inspect the site and install it properly.

our process

We can supply the Tesla Gen 3 wall connector, or install a charger you've already purchased.

We prefer to inspect the switchboard, cable access and installation location on site so we can confirm the scope properly before quoting.

Typical installation includes:

Install charger to a suitable location at the property

Mount charger securely to wall or structure

Install local isolator adjacent to charger

Install cabling between switchboard and charger location

Secure and protect cabling as required

Connect charger to the electrical system

Install appropriate circuit protection

Test and commission installation for safe operation

Customer-supplied charger installations are subject to charger suitability, site requirements, and available switchboard capacity.

If there are existing electrical issues at the property, we can also help with electrical safety inspections or broader general electrical work at the same time.

What Is Load Management?

Load management helps ensure your EV charger does not overload your electrical supply when other appliances are running in the home.

It works by adjusting the charging output based on how much power is already being used elsewhere in the property. For some homes, this can be a smart way to improve safety and avoid overloading the switchboard.

Helps prevent overloads when multiple appliances are running at once

Can improve safety where switchboard capacity is limited

May avoid unnecessary upgrades in some situations

We’ll assess whether load management is recommended for your installation and explain it clearly before proceeding.

What If I Want Solar Integration?

If you want your EV charger integrated with an existing solar or battery setup, that may require additional equipment, programming, or input from your solar or battery installer.

We can discuss the electrical installation side and advise on what is involved, but solar-specific integration or programming may need to be completed by the relevant solar provider or an external specialist depending on the system.
