About Our Rangehood Installation

Most rangehood installations involve safely disconnecting the existing unit, fitting the new customer-supplied rangehood, connecting it to power, and testing the appliance before we leave.

We install common domestic kitchen rangehoods including slide-out, canopy, undermount and fixed rangehoods, depending on the existing cabinetry, ducting setup, appliance size and manufacturer requirements.

We generally do not supply appliances, but we can install suitable customer-supplied rangehoods and advise if the electrical side of the installation needs extra work.

Your Rangehood Options

Replace An Existing Rangehood

If your old rangehood is faulty, noisy, damaged or outdated, we can replace it with a suitable customer-supplied unit where the new model fits the existing space and electrical setup.

Install A New Rangehood

If you are installing a rangehood in a new location, we can assess the electrical requirements and advise what is involved. New installations may require additional wiring or coordination with cabinetry and ducting work.

Customer-Supplied Rangehoods

We generally install customer-supplied rangehoods rather than supplying the appliance. This lets you choose the model, finish, size and features that suit your kitchen.

Before booking, it helps to have the make and model available so we can check the installation style, electrical requirements and whether the new rangehood is likely to suit the existing space.

Rangehoods We Install

Slide-Out Rangehoods

Replacement and installation of common slide-out kitchen rangehoods.

Canopy Rangehoods

Wall-mounted canopy style rangehood installation and replacement.

Undermount Rangehoods

Neat installation under overhead cupboards where the unit and space are suitable.

Fixed Rangehoods

Basic fixed rangehood replacement for simple kitchen setups.

Our Process

We keep rangehood installations practical and clear. The exact scope depends on the existing unit, the new rangehood, the cabinetry, ducting and available power.

Typical installation includes:

Check the existing rangehood and confirm the installation setup

Safely isolate power before disconnecting the existing unit

Remove or disconnect the old rangehood where suitable

Fit the new customer-supplied rangehood to the existing location where compatible

Connect the rangehood electrically to the existing or new power supply

Test operation including lights, fan speeds and controls

Clean up the work area and leave the kitchen tidy

Cabinetry changes, ducting changes, plastering, tiling and appliance supply are not included unless specifically arranged.

Important Things To Check

Does The New Rangehood Fit?

The new rangehood needs to suit the existing opening, cupboard space and mounting arrangement. If the new unit is a different size, cabinetry changes may be required by others.

Is There Existing Ducting?

Some rangehoods are ducted outside, while others recirculate through filters. If ducting needs to be altered, installed or repaired, that may require additional trade work.

Is Power Available?

Many replacements can use the existing electrical connection, but some installations may require additional wiring or changes to the power point or connection point.

Do You Have The Manual?

The manufacturer’s installation manual helps confirm clearances, fixing requirements and electrical connection details for the specific rangehood model.

Other Kitchen Appliance Installation

If you are upgrading your kitchen, we can also help with cooktop installation and oven installation. These pages are kept separate so the information matches the appliance you need installed.

For most kitchen appliance jobs, customers supply the appliance and we complete the electrical installation, connection, testing and safety checks where suitable.
